Anya Taylor-Joy, who plays the title role in Fox’s upcoming sci-fi thriller Morgan, has joined the cast of Marrowbone, a psychological thriller that marks the directing debut of writer Sergio G. Sanchez. The pic is being executive produced by J.A. Bayona, who directed Sanchez’s script The Orphanage and The Impossible which Sanchez co-wrote.

Marrowbone centers on four children who hide from the world after their mother’s death on a farm that holds a terrible secret. Belen Atienza, working with Bayona on the upcoming A Monster Calls, is producing. Mia Goth, George Mackay and Charlie Heaton co-star. Lionsgate International was selling the new thriller as part of its Cannes slate earlier this spring.

Taylor-Joy’s Morgan, co-starring Kate Mara, Paul Giamatti and Toby Jones and produced by Ridley Scott, opens September 2. Her credits include Robert Eggers’ indie hit The Witch and M. Night Shyamalan’s Split with James McAvoy which bows on January 20, 2017. She also just wrapped filming Thoroughbred opposite Olivia Cooke and the late Anton Yelchin, and Black Bear Pictures’ Barry from director Vikram Gandhi.

She is repped by CAA, Troika and Felker Toczek.
